THE Scarlets have opted not to press the gamble button and risk Stephen Jones for tomorrow's first Welsh regional derby of the season. Jones has been struggling with a slight Achilles problem and head coach Nigel Davies has decided to give his talisman another week to recover as the clock ticks down towards Europe.

Jones, one of the stars of the Lions series in South Africa, was due to return for tomorrow's Magners League clash against the Blues at the Cardiff City Stadium. He is now likely to feature against Ulster in Ravenhill next Friday -- just eight days before the Heineken Cup opener against Brive at Parc y Scarlets.
