A WORKER at Swansea's DVLA used his position to check the details of an undercover police car which was being used in a major drugs surveillance operation. As a result, the surveillance was "compromised", a court has heard.

Mervyn Llewellyn Hopkins, from Blaengwynfi in the Afan Valley, pleaded guilty to accessing the data when he appeared before magistrates.
