A PETITION signed by more than 900 people has been handed in to the county council asking them to stop plans for an opencast mine in the Gwendraeth Valley.
Members of an action committee have delivered the signatures by residents to Carmarthenshire Council, calling on council leaders to put a stop to the proposal by the company Draeth for opencast mining at the former Pentremawr colliery site, between Pontyberem and Ponthenri.See the full content of this document
