Summary


The vibraphone has been sadly neglected in jazz circles since the heyday of the 1960s, when a new generation of musicians - inspired by the pioneering vibes player Lem Winchester - came up with a sound which exploited the shimmering, oscillating quality of the instrument.

How refreshing, then, to see this remarkable percussion instrument being rediscovered by another generation of jazz performers for the benefit of 21st Century audiences.
