Sound archivists have thanked a Swansea University lecturer for donating an extensive catalogue of his research on the Welsh accent to a new project on speech.
English tutor Robert Penhallurick handed over more than 500 of his recordings on the nation's different dialects to the British Library Sound Archive. Library bosses say The Survey of Anglo-Welsh Dialects, which dates back to the 1960s, gives a unique and in- depth insight into the local vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar of English in Wales.See the full content of this document
