Summary
VGeorge North v Digby Ioane North lit up the World Cup with a series of outstanding displays, notably against Fiji and Namibia, with his pace and power making him the talk of the tournament in New Zealand. Still only a teenager, he had the confidence to move off his wing and roam and caused havoc in opposition defences. He also has a relish for tries, with his tally up to nine from just 15 Tests. But he will need to be alert in defence as well against Australia because he is up against one of the best wings in the world in Digby Ioane, a devastating broken-play runner capable of punishing the slightest lapse.
VRhys Priestland v James O'Connor Like North, Priestland excelled in New Zealand, controlling games and bringing the best out of Jonathan Davies and Jamie Roberts, in particular. Wales missed him acutely for the games with France and Australia, but the hype around him should not mask that he is still bedding in at Test level. Even so, with his pace and willingness to threaten the gain-line he is an undoubted asset, whereas there are question marks over O'Connor as he plays at fly-half for the first time in a full-blooded Test. He has an abundance of flair but Wales will look to exploit his lack of experience and put pressure on the 13st converted wing in defence.See the full content of this document
