Summary
Swedes, which are similar to turnips, are one of the few vegetables grown solely for winter use, perfect to sweeten up casseroles or mashed with carrot, with a knob of butter and black pepper.
They grow best in full sun in well-drained, moisture-retentive soil with the addition of compost. In cold regions seeds can be sown directly into prepared soil in late spring, or in early summer in warmer spots.See the full content of this document
