Firefighters in Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, and Carmarthenshire are being attacked, abused, threatened and ambushed as they try to save lives, according to union officials.

Figures released today by the Fire Brigades' Union (FBU) show that the number of reported attacks on firefighters from the Mid and West Wales service has increased by 300 per cent in the past year.
