READING about the sad lives of the children in care or at risk in the Post (March 2) makes it obvious there is a huge need for such children to have the offer of regular contact with an independent advocate/befriender who would not only take them out once a week, but who would be available to talk to at any time about anything.
Unless there is someone independent of social services and their carers that they can trust, such tragedies will continue.See the full content of this document
