Regarding the story Councillors Expenses to Remain Secret (July 17), paragraph three of the report by Rob Green, in particular - councillors are allowed to collect cash to reimburse them for their legitimate expenses when they are carrying out their public duties.
They can claim for food, travel, printing and phone calls among other things. That being the case, why do they already have a set wage/salary plus a set expense allowance, plus special responsibility allowances?See the full content of this document
