Developer Supports Common Protection

Summary


A CAMPAIGN to gain extra protection for a much-loved common has been backed by a developer who wants to build houses next door. Andy Moore, general manager of Carrington Moore Estates, said getting village green status for Picket Mead, Newton, was a "fantastic idea".

He said: "I would be the first to be up-in-arms if anything was to happen to it. Hopefully my kids -- aged 5 and 3 -- will be playing there."
