IN commentary on the radio last week for Glamorgan's tight win against Sussex, I posed a question to my colleague Steve James about whether preparing slow, low, turning pitches was against the spirit of what T20 cricket was designed to be.

He agreed instantly. T20 cricket was supposed to be the game that would pack grounds with its dashing strokeplay, pinch hitting and flurry of airborne boundaries.
