EMERGENCY clinics are being set up to protect mums-to-be against flu. Pregnant mums are being urged to go along and have their flu jabs in Neath Port Talbot, Bridgend and Swansea, if they have not already done so. Worried parents are already frantically calling surgeries to ensure their children get the jab, following the death of three-year-old Lana Ameen, of Heaviley, in Cheshire, of swine flu after Christmas. Swansea GP Ian Millington, secretary of Morgannwg Local Medical .Committee, said: "There have been some enquiries from parents but it is not under the advice of the Government. "Every time someone has suffered badly or dies, it generates more enquiries.

" He added that pregnant women would be offered "good protection" if they had the jab, as the virus is more likely to cause them problems. The seasonal flu jab is unsuitable for people who have a confirmed egg allergy. An Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board spokeswoman said: "If you are pregnant and have not received a flu vaccination this year (since September 2010) Public Health Wales and the Chief Medical Officer advises that you do." "You can either make an appointment at your GP surgery or for a limited time only, arrange to be vaccinated in a clinic.
