COUNCIL chiefs have praised CCTV cameras which helped police collar 210 criminals in a year.
The cameras recorded 230 incidents in Llanelli, Ammanford and Carmarthen between April 1, 2010, and March 31, 2011, resulting in 210 arrests, Carmarthenshire Council revealed. Councillor Pam Palmer, the council's executive board member for community safety, said: "CCTV makes a huge contribution to tackling crime and antisocial behaviour, as well as providing reassurance for residents."See the full content of this document
