Summary
IN my mind surfing was going to be great. I looked so good in my wetsuit with my pink sleek surfboard running across the sand. My hair flowing as I slide into the sea and paddle out effortlessly, then catch a huge wave and ride that baby back in. I then get up elegantly with my hair and make-up still perfect. In reality it was somewhat different.
I thought I would be clever with my wetsuit and just buy a winter one; I don't live in Hawaii, after all. Bad idea, as it was a scorching day on the beach and I was fit for arctic weather. The suit was heavy and made me walk like Robocop. Still I attached my leash and made an attempt to pick up my gigantic foam beginner's board and trot toward the sea. The board was so heavy my arms ached before I had even begun to swim, so I dropped the back end and dragged it. I then proceeded to run with a stitch. At the point of no return I got tangled in my leash and fell face down. I didn't try to hide the fact I fell because I knew that everyone would have seen, still I didn't look back just in case they were pointing and laughing in my general direction.See the full content of this document
