TENS of thousands of pounds have been raised to help the families and relatives of the miners who died in the disaster at Gleision Colliery. Neath MP and Shadow Secretary of State for Wales, Peter Hain, was on the scene of the disaster at Cilybebyll from the early stages and decided to set up the Swansea Valley Miners Appeal Fund.
