IT is interesting news the Folly/Belvedere in Saunders Way, Derwen Fawr, will be saved because there are horseshoe bats living in it. It is to be hoped this Grade II listed building, erected nearly 200 years ago, can be sympathetically cared for, and the surrounding area on which it stands can be maintained, without disturbing the bats.
Hopefully, the same careful remedial treatment can be devoted to the Roman Bridge at Blackpill, again a Grade II-listed feature. This 18th Century bridge is one of Cadw's 41 listed buildings at risk in Swansea, and the council's own building assessment indicates that "wall pointing is in a poor condition and requires major repair".See the full content of this document
