Summary
THERE are two sorts of government in this world. The first sort is authoritarian, and treats the population like farm animals. The second is libertarian, in which the sovereignty of the individual is supreme.
This country espoused the second sort and grafted it onto nations all over the world. As a result, democracy and freedom flourished in large areas of the earth where authoritarian rule had existed before.
