BRITAIN leads Europe in some pretty unenviable categories including levels of alcohol abuse, binge drinking, obesity, sexually transmitted disease and teenage pregnancy.
But this week doctors called on the UK to take the lead in tackling some of these problems -- by being the first country to introduce a comprehensive ban on alcohol promotion. The British Medical Association (BMA) wants to see an end not just to traditional advertising and cut-price deals in supermarkets and pubs, but also to booze brands sponsoring festivals, sports events and teams.See the full content of this document
