THE Government should not sell off the nationalised Northern Rock bank, according to one of those in the running to become a Swansea MP. Geraint Davies, who is replacing Alan Williams as Labour candidate for Swansea West when Mr Williams stands down, said the bank should be returned to its mutual status.

Sex Offences Denied

A FORMER Croeserw man has appeared in court to deny sexual activity with a young girl. Lee Derek Fairman, who now lives in Aberaman, near Aberdare, pleaded not guilty to sexual offences against a child between January and June 26 of this year. Judge John Diehl QC adjourned the matter for a plea and case management hearing on Monday, October 12.

Appeal for Return of Precious Snaps

A WEST Cross family has made an appeal for the return of a digital camera lost on Saturday, August 29. The camera was lost in either the Rock and Fountain pub in Newton or in the back of an Oyster cab taxi around 12.30am.
